I want to be really hyped about this one but with Strike telling me that you weren't going to be able to aim down sights on your guns, unless they have some sort of scope on them, I'm not sure. I am not interested, at all, in being forced to run around hip firing all the time trying to unlock scopes. I'll have to wait and see what happens with this aiming down sight stuff.

That's a good point. Though I don't think it would take away from the game much of at all. It's looking promising so far.

You will in fact be able to able down the sites no matter what. The only thing is that some of the weapons will not have any iron sites so it's nothing more than a visual thing. You can still aim down the site you just won't have any iron sites to use.

Yeah. Not really sold on this one either. Looks like it has potential, but, I'll wait before I get it.

If you love Battlefield you're going to love this one. I believe it's going to be a dang good game. My one hang up was that rumor that you wouldn't be able to ADS but now that I've seen it confirmed that it was just a rumor, and not correct, I am sold once again that this will be a great game.

Even if you don't love Battlefield (which you should because its great) Battlefront is still looking sweet. Hell, I'm sold on nostalgia alone! Battlefront 1 and 2 were my favorite shooters back in the day.

It wasn't really a rumor so much as the developer did not announce what he was talking about correctly and it was taken the wrong way.. when they first announced the game they said there would be no iron sight aiming and the public immediately took that as no ADS so the developer had to come back and correct the misunderstanding..

Ahhh that makes sense. I'm glad you can ADS cause now I'm super looking forward to this game once again. I didn't play the first two Battlefronts, so I missed out there, but this looks absolutely amazing.

Played it. It's great. I have a blast on the limited amount of time I spent on it yesterday. Some thoughts, a little scattered around here. Keep in mind I only played for about two hours and I only played the Drop Zone game type.
The good:
1) No reloading. This was so nice not having to reload. Now don't get to happy here they replaced reloading with your laser guns overheating and having to cool down. So basically if you hold the trigger down, or you burst fire too many times, too quickly, your gun will over heat and you won't be able to fire again until it cools down. The time it takes for it to overheat and reload varies gun to gun but basically it's the amount of time it would take to reload a gun, depending on what gun you're trying to reload in general first person shooters. Easy to manage though and get around.
2) Grenades work as they should. If you land them really close the person dies in one grenade. Boom. Done. If they don't get it close in you don't get killed by some BS grenade way off the mark. You might take some damage but you don't die from it.
3) Movement was really good. Your guy looks like he's running sort of weird, due to it being Star Wars, but it's smooth and feels very much like Battlefield.
4) There is some kick to your guns but it doesn't seem like it's a whole lot. It's really easy to manage the recoil of the weapons as you're going to want to aim more for headshots anyway.
5) Headshots...there does seem to be a very noticeable reward for better aiming and landing shots to the head.
6) Loading between games went very smoothly, and really pretty quickly. There wasn't nearly the long wait between rounds and getting things to load.
For now that's all I can really think of off the top of my head.
The bad:
1) Time to kill seems WAY to high. It just seemed like it took way more shots then it should have to kill people, even at close ranges.
2) Spawning...while it's no where near the worst I've dealt with it did seem very spotty and not real reliable.
3) Unlike Battlefield it doesn't appear you can have 4-6 man squads to spawn off of. From what I've seen you can only have 1 partner and that's the person you can spawn on and that person only. Otherwise you have to random spawn.
4) There doesn't appear to be a real difference in range of weapons. It shows a difference in the stats but it doesn't appear, when shooting the weapons, that there really is. The first weapon you unlock, after your base gun, is a pistol looking weapon called an E-11 and it was just as good at range as any of the rifle looking weapons. In fact this weapon seemed to be far and away the best weapon in this beta.
Right now that's all that's coming to mind so far.
