What is everyone's thoughts on Wasteland 2?
I guess the first Wasteland game came out a long time ago for the N64. It looks like it's a 3rd person RPG set in post apocalyptic America.
I am really thinking about renting it when it comes out.

I've never heard of either one of them. To me if it's coming out anytime soon it's going to fail, in that genre, with Fall Out 4 coming out right around the corner.

It's coming out like.... the 13th of October, I think. It is a slightly different genre than fallout. It looks like it plays more like Diablo 3. And you can have multiple followers. From what I read somewhere Wasteland is the game that inspired the Fallout series. No clue if that is true though. Yeah.... with all the really big names coming out at the end of this year it will be hard for games to compete and get any type of recignition.
I dunno, Wasteland may be one of the games they talk about in the future about how it got overlooked and how much of a gem it is. Only time will tell.

Ehhhh I might pick it up eventually but not anytime soon. It's coming out way to close to Black Ops3, Fall Out 4, and Battlefront.

Wasteland 2 has been out on PC since September 19, 2014 and it is a turn based strategy game with a fallout theme.

That tells me it's not very good.
If it were you would have been sucked in for a whole lot more than 15 minutes.

Well, this should be out today. I got to say from all the reviews I read it sounds like a pretty solid game. A few bugs but over all seems good. Lots of game play options and character creation options. And it seems like every choice you make affects the world in some way, whether right then or later one. And fo4 $40 that's not to bad.

Not too bad at all.
I still will wait.
I've playing Shadows of Mordor right now and I'm messing around with PSNow for the month.
By the time that's all over it'll be Black Ops 3, Fallout 4, and Battlefront time.
I also might be sprinkling in some State of Decay and Sunset Overdrive on the Xbox 1 as well.

I'm going to get Fallout, but I have no desire for BO III or battlefront.
I went down to rent Wasteland today, but somebody beat me to it. :-( course, family video only had 1 copy....

Rob you NEED to get BO III and Battlefront to play with us. They're a blast. After playing both betas I'm super excited for both of these games. I can't wait for BO III in particular.

Well, I've been playing this for a week now and I've got to say.... I like it. It's really fun. Very reminiscent of old RPGs. Lots of dialog, lots of quests. Most every action you take has a consequence, be it for good or ill. Your choices matter in this game. Maybe not right then, but at some juncture in the future. This game makes you pay attention to things as well, just little things that other games overlook now in days.
The battle system seems really solid. Strategy is involved in how a battle plays out. It's not just a stand there and have a shoot out with the bad guys. You need to position your people, try to have some plan, some strategy.
The one thing that I don't like about the game (other than all the references to The Christmas Story (but that's another story in its self)) is the camera. For me, personally, it doesn't show enough in front of your people when your running atound. And sometimes no matter what you try, there is just no good camera angle. You can pan the camera up and down, and rotate it around your squad 360 degrees. Like I said, sometimes it's just not enough though.
It really feels like an alternate form of Fallout. Like Fallout 2.0 or something like that. And it should, Wasteland 2 is made by the same company that gave inspiration to the fallout series we all love so much.
So, over all, in my opinion, I give Wasteland 2 an 8.5/10.

Sounds like a pretty solid game. Something I'll look into down the line. I'm almost done with Shadows of Mordor, just in time for the new games coming out on the PS4 and Xbox 1

I looked at this game last night while I was at work. It looks kind of interesting but I'm still holding out on it.
